For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building.
-From Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians 3:9
I have been in long contemplation over this verse. Arguably it’s been diminishing returns. Then I remembered the ages invested between a vine and wine.
So here’s what little bit I could sip from these ancient words,
Dei enim sumus adjustores
For we are God’s Adjusters.
I often ask for God to send an adjuster to my own calamities, but this verse has been a reminder that I was made to be one who walks with another as an agent of abundant mercy and grace. Someone else has already written the check. He only asks who will accept.
Dei agricultura estis
You are God’s Agriculture
We are the ones he has been cultivating. We’re the bits of earth being worked. We are the trees He wants to redeem and return to the garden city. I know I must be often reminded the storms are watering something in this dormant desert of a man that I may live again.
Dei aedificatio estis
You are God’s Architecture
God sees into every bit of structure holding together you and me. We are divinely designed and desired. I know no matter the disrepair I have found myself in, He is here to raise us up again.
Adjuster, Agriculture, Architecture.
We all are employed in the greatest endeavor ever.
Until next week,
-Steven
PS. Thank you to everyone continuing to pray for my mother’s healing. The heavy things aren’t crushing when one has a community lifting. If we can offer up a prayer of petition or praise in your name, please send it my way.
A bottomless pit of contemplation this is:
“I was made to be one who walks with another as an agent of abundant mercy and grace. Someone else has already written the check. He only asks who will accept.”
🙏🙏
Sending good wishes and thoughts to you and your family
