Beginning Write of Passage
This week I am beginning David Perell’s Write of Passage Course. What you all can expect here is a new essay to be published here, every Wednesday for the next six weeks. Friday’s Library Notes will continue as an insight into the research I have done for the Wednesday Essay, and I hope to put out a few Monday updates as well.
My hope for this course is to connect with other writers, and grow with other writers from disciplines outside of my own.
Practically speaking, my hope is from this course I’ll round out the things I need to finish my first book that has been in the works now for nearly 2 years. I welcome your insights and feedback as this course unfolds and would enjoy hearing from you if you are a writer as well.
Discipline is Destiny
Additionally this week, Discipline is Destiny arrived at my house. The latest installment of Ryan Holiday’s work is similar to previous offerings. Vignettes and anecdotes well curated for a theme supporting an over arching idea. After getting through the first third of the book, I can say it has been delightful, and easy to pickup and put down in short sessions between feeding, changing, and holding a newborn child.
Having read Ego is the Enemy, The Obstacle is the Way, and Stillness is the Key along with Holiday’s Daily Stoic and Conspiracy, this latest volume of work is the best distilled yet and a liner notes of sorts of history’s best characters worth imploring for more lessons.
A Little Break from YouTube
For those of you who have been following my work on YouTube, It’s been about 2 weeks since I have posted and for good reason. My wife has continued to contend with complications from delivery roughly two months ago. And while I have had some progress with my leg and learning to walk again, I am far from full strength and ability (stairs are still difficult and I am not looking forward to having to scale these in the winter snow).
I hope to produce at least a few more videos before the end of the year but videos will be unfortunately infrequent until my wife and I can regain good health.
