I've been working through a physical copy of "Guadalupe and the Flower World Prophecy," which is filled to the brim with scholarship about indigenous Mexican philosophy & culture. It's easy to see why people were so eager to convert after the story & image of Our Lady spread... I thought I knew a lot about that background, but this book takes a more academic approach (although it's easy to read).
